I’ve had my eye on getting a light box photography studio for a while now. Mainly because I thought it would be useful for taking photos to use on the blog and for reviews. I had the opportunity to review the Foldable Photography Studio Light Box Kit from Amzdeal. I had assumed that it would be simple enough to assemble and use.
What’s In the Box:
- 1x Foldable studio box with LED light strip
- 1x Black Backdrop
- 1x White Backdrop
- 1x USB cable
- User manual
The studio kit is supplied flat packed and comes in a brown box with the Amzdeal logo on the front in black. When you take everything out of the box, it comes in 3 packets. One contains the box, another contains the backdrops and the final one contains the USB cable.
There is a LED light strip on the upper edge of the light box which is powered by the USB cable. A switch can be found on the cable to turn the lights on or off as required. The connection port on the light strip is found on the right side. On the strip, there are 20 bead bulbs and the colour of the LED lights is cool white.
It is fairly easy to assemble. You have to pull the sides out that are tucked into the rest of the square and it unfolds. Each of the 3 sections (top, middle and bottom) have 2 side flaps which connect to each other with magnets. Arrange the flaps in the correct order to assemble the box.
Each side is connected in the following order; bottom, middle, top. This works from the inside of the box to the outside. You attach the magnet for the middle flap on top of the flap of the bottom section and then attach the flap from the top section to the middle section. I found that the sides seemed to bend inwards after assembling the box. To fix this I just attempted to flatten the sides by pulling the attached flaps outwards. That seemed to do the trick.
Fully assembled the box measures at 24cm high, 22cm wide and 24cm deep. At a 2cm depth when completely folded, the studio box is easily portable. It is also made from a sturdy but flexible material.
I didn’t really think much of this when I ordered it, with it being a foldable studio but I am really impressed with it. It is better than I expected. I like how it attaches together and the LED lights seem to be of good quality. I’m looking forward to using this more often.
The Foldable Photography Studio Light Box Kit from Amzdeal is currently on sale at Amazon UK for £15.99 with a RRP of £23.99.
