Product Review | Aukey Glass Aroma Diffuser

When I first received this Aukey glass aroma diffuser and I took it out of its box, I was quite impressed. I picked it due to its simple and subtle design and thought it was just going to be a plastic cover, like most other diffusers. I was impressed by the fact that this one is frosted glass and is 3mm thick.

The diffuser is a cylindrical shape with a small chimney and is 7.5 inches (19cm) tall, 3.5 inches (9cm) in diameter with a 10.5 inch (26.5cm) circumference. It has a 1 inch wooden base with the frosted glass cover. The LED lights shine through the frosted glass beautifully.

The instruction manual provided with the diffuser gives you all the necessary information you would need to use the diffuser correctly. It tells you what each function is, how to activate it, troubleshooting, safety precautions, product specifications , care and maintenance. You will find the plug connection socket on the base of the diffuser. On the front of the base, there are two buttons; one for mist and one for the LED lights.

To activate continuous mist mode, press the MIST button once. when using continuous mode, the diffuser will automatically turn itself off after 3 hours. Press the MIST button again to change to the 30-second interval mode. In this mode, the mist will emit at 30-second intervals and then the diffuser will turn itself off automatically after 6 hours. Pressing the MIST button a third time will power off the diffuser. The mist only has the one intensity setting so you can’t alter accordingly, but this didn’t bother me any.

There are 7 available colours for the LED lights. Pressing the LIGHT button once will activate colour changing mode which will cycle through the colours. Another 7 presses will cycle through each colour at a time and fix on that colour. An eighth press will turn off all LEDs. The lights look beautiful in the dark. Although, depending on where you want to use it, the lights may be too bright in some cases.

The diffuser has roughly a 100ml water tank which is easily accessible. You just take the glass cover off the top and it reveals the tank with its lid. Remove the lid and fill the tank. On the right side of the tank, you can find the max fill line. It is in black text, so is easily noticeable. On the left side is the air outlet.

You also get a measuring jug with this diffuser too, which you don’t get with every diffuser. It fills to a maximum of 150ml and is perfect for filling the diffusers tank.

As of yet, I haven’t tried this with any essential oil as I don’t have any at home but it is something I am looking forward to trying. It suggests 2 or 3 drops of essential oil per 100ml of water in the tank but I would say it is your preference as to how strong of an aroma you want.

The diffuser does require a little bit of maintenance. After using for a few times you have to clean the tank with citric acid and water. This is to prevent any mildew in the tank and clogging due to the essential oil. Maybe, if you don’t use any essential oils, a quick wipe over with a damp cloth and drying it would suffice. The instruction manual gives you the method of cleaning.

This is a good, sturdy diffuser and all-in-all, I really like it. I’m looking forward to getting more use out of it. The design is simple and the frosted glass is a great addition. Out of the 4 diffusers that I have at home, this one is definitely in my top 2.

I am an asthmatic and I am hoping that this may help ease my symptoms. If you are also an asthmatic and want to try this with essential oils, maybe you could try bergamot essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil and Roman chamomile essential oil. After a bit of online research, these seem like the best essential oils to help people with asthma.

The Aukey glass aroma diffuser is currently on sale at Amazon UK for £15.99, with an RRP of £39.99. You also get a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase the diffuser. This is noted in the manual.

  1. I like the looks of this diffuser. I think it looks much better than the one I bought for my daughter’s room. I love how this one doesn’t take up much room.
