Product Review | Etekcity Digital Body Weight Scales

I received these Etekcity Digital Body Weight Scales recently, but realised that they weren’t what I was looking for. However, I’m giving my honest review of the scales themselves, not for the fact that they weren’t what I wanted.

The scales are made of 6mm thick, black tempered glass and are 12 inch x 12 inch (30.5cm x 30.5cm) in size. The tempered glass makes for a sturdy set of scales. The scales are activated as soon as you step on them thanks to the high precision sensors (which is using technology from Germany) and can be measured in 3 units; stones and pounds, pounds and kilos. The scales automatically turn themselves off when not in use and they have a low battery and overload indicator. All the weight and indicators can be seen on the backlit LCD screen display.

img_4822The scales have a maximum user weight of 28 stone (180kg/400lb) and goes up in increments of 0.2lb (0.1kg)

As with all scales, they are best used on a hard, flat surface such as tiles etc. After moving, stepping off the scales or changing the measurement unit, you have to wait for the scales to automatically turn off in order for them to recalibrate to get accurate measurements.

These scales require 2 AAA batteries, which are installed into the compartment on the back of the scales. What I like about them is that 2 AAA batteries are provided and are already pre-installed. I didn’t have to worry about searching around the home for spare batteries. Just remove the security tab from the battery compartment and you are good to go.

These scales are really good quality, which I can’t fault them for at all. I just wish that they had the functions in a scale that I was looking for at the time (BMI and such).  They are sturdy, they work brilliantly and they look great too. I would definitely recommend them if you didn’t want the extra functions like BMI and muscle mass.

The Etekcity Digital Body Weight Scales are currently on sale at Amazon UK for £17.98 (usual price £35.99) with a RRP of £40.00. You also get a 2 Year Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase the scales. You receive the warranty card in the box.
