Product Review | AUKEY 21W Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker

speaker

Since I am currently working with the brand Aukey on promoting their products, I have a few reviews to post about a selection of items that I have received. The first is for this 21 watt portable wireless bluetooth speaker.

The Aukey 21W Bluetooth Speaker comes packaged in a recycled brown cardboard box, as with all Aukey products. It is cylindrical and is roughly 9 inches (23cm) in diameter and 12 inches (30.5cm) long with a 25 inch (63.5cm) circumference. The speaker is black in colour with silver coloured handles and fascia. It has two speakers; one at each end. It has a 15 watt subwoofer and two 3 watt drivers.

Whats in the box:

  • Aukey speaker
  • USB charging cable
  • Audio cable (3.5mm jack)
  • Microphone
  • User Manual and Warranty Card

On the control panel you will find a small LED screen display which shows you which function you are using. The functions which this speaker has is bluetooth, auxiliary mode and FM radio. When you plug in the microphone, bluetooth mode is still active which allows you to play songs from your bluetooth device and sing along. The bluetooth has a range of 33 feet (10 metres). I’ve read that people have trouble with the bluetooth on this device, but I haven’t found any problems at all.

Along with the LED screen on the control panel there are two 6.5mm microphone jacks allowing you to connect a second microphone if you have one, the on/off switch, the auxiliary jack, bass control, volume control, microphone volume control, microphone echo control, mode button and the play/pause/back/forward buttons.

To switch between the FM radio, bluetooth and other functions, just click the MODE button until you reach the function you want. While using the FM radio function, pressing the PLAY/PAUSE buttons will search for the FM radio channels and the found channels are automatically saved.

With this speaker being rechargeable, it would take roughly 13 hours to fully charge from the battery being completely drained and it has an estimated play time of roughly 8 and a half hours at the maximum volume. Obviously, at a lower volume you will get more use out of it. Mr J and I have used this speaker for at least 6 or 7 hours since we received the speaker and it shows no sign of the battery running out yet. The battery is a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery.

As for sound quality, I can’t actually pick a fault with it. Again, I’ve read people have said it has very low quality but I am unsure of where this comes from. When using the bluetooth mode, you have to find the balance between the sound volume from the speaker and the sound volume from your device, but that is all. The range of sound it has is amazing and it has brilliant bass.

One other thing that I think is great about this speaker is that you can use it as a guitar amp. Mr J has just had a new bass guitar as an early Christmas gift and has been using this as his amp until he can get a new one. You just use the microphone jack with your guitar leads and it works a treat. You will need to use the microphone volume control knob to control the volume.

It is a great speaker, which is sturdy and the number of functions is always a bonus.

The Aukey 21W Bluetooth Speaker is currently on sale at Amazon UK for Β£44.99. You also get a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase the thermometer. This is noted in the manual.
