The light fixture is 7.5 inches (19cm) long and 1.75 inches (4.5cm) wide. The light fixture can be angled anywhere on an 180-degree pivot. The base has a diameter of 3.5 inches (9cm) with a 10.75 inch (27.5cm) circumference. The lamp is bright white in colour. It is rechargeable via a USB charging cable. The lamp also has 3 brightness settings; high, medium and low.

img_5139Whats in the box:

  • Aukey foldable lamp
  • USB charging cable
  • User Manual and Warranty Card

Around the base of the lamp a frosted strip that has a thickness of half an inch. This is a coloured night-light on the RGB scale. The colours aren’t too bright, which makes it an ideal coloured night-light. On the front of the lamp base, there are two touch sensitive buttons. One is the ON/OFF button and the other activates the night-light, which is shaped like a sun. One press turns the night-light on and a second press turns it off. To cycle through the 3 brightness settings for the lamp, touch the ON/OFF button the required amount; 1 press for high, 2 for medium, 3 for low and 4 for off.

img_5152The 5V (0.5A) charging port can be found on the rear of the base with a small red light indicator to show that the battery is charging. The light turns off completely at full charge. It takes a maximum of 4 hours to fully charge, which lasts roughly 4 hours until the battery has drained. It is only the night-light and main lamp that is controlled by the rechargeable battery.

On the back of the lamp, there is a circular battery compartment for a 3V round coin/button battery. This is the power source for the calendar display. Just remove the safety tab to allow the battery to power the LCD screen. Above the battery compartment, there are 4 small buttons. These are for the set up of the LCD calendar display screen. The buttons are MODE, SET, UP and DOWN. It is quite simple to set up; pretty self-explanatory really.

img_5151The 3.5 inch (9cm) tall, 1 inch (2.5cm) wide LCD display has no backlight; it is opaque. It features the date, time, day and temperature. You can alter the time to use either the 12-hour or 24-hour clock and the temperature can be changed from Celsius to Fahrenheit. You can also set an alarm too, with a range of 7 different alarm tones.

It is a good little portable lamp that is ideal for on a bedside table or desk. You have a good range of features at your disposal and it has a modern and stylish looking design.

The Aukey Foldable Desk LED Calendar Lamp is currently unavailable for sale at Amazon UK. I’m sure that Aukey will have some more in stock very soon. You also get a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase the thermometer. This is noted in the manual.
