Product Review | Aukey GH-S1 Gaming Headset

This Aukey GH-S1 Gaming Headset was packaged in a detailed box. The headset has a sleek, matte black design with red accents such as the scorpion icon and brand name. They feature soft, leather-look material earmuffs and headband (both adjustable) as well as an adjustable microphone. The microphone can be set within a 160-degree range. Attached to the cable, there is also a control panel which features volume controls, a microphone power switch and a clip to attach to your clothes.

The cable is of a great length; roughly 95 inches (241cm) long. This includes the extra cable to each 3.5mm plug for microphone (pink plug) and audio (green plug).

This can be used for console gaming, such as on the PS4, although you would need to buy an extra audio splitter to allow both plugs to be plugged in.

The sound quality is pretty good. So far, I have only used to watch videos on the computer. These videos sound good through the earphones, but I can’t comment on how they make games sound just yet. I had these specifically for PS4 gaming, but still need to acquire an audio splitter before I can use them properly while playing Elder Scrolls Online with Mr J and his dad.

They are quite comfortable to wear too. It got to a point where I completely forgot that I was wearing them. They would be suitable for gamers.

One improvement I would make is either making them only use one jack which would be suitable for all gaming or supplying a removable audio splitter.

The Aukey GH-S1 Gaming Headset is currently on sale at Amazon UK for £14.99. You get a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase. This is noted in the manual along with the warranty card.
