Product Review | Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 Portable Charger

This Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 Portable Charger was packaged in a simple recycled brown cardboard box. Provided in the package are the portable charger, micro USB cable, user manual and warranty card.

The portable charger is a smooth, matte black with the Aukey name embossed on the top along with the power button. It is roughly 6 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1 inch in depth. Along the one side of the charger, you will find the power sockets and a small LED light.

You have 2 output sockets and 2 input sockets. The two input sockets, which are found on the right hand side, support both Micro USB and Lightning inputs. The output sockets, found on the right, are both general USB ports that also support AiPower technology. You will notice that each USB socket is a different colour; one is orange and one is green. The green is the standard charging output and the orange supports Qualcomm Quick Charge. The beauty of Qualcomm is that any compatible device is charged up to 4 times faster than the standard port.

Another good thing about this charger is that there is some kind of indicator for battery life. If you press the power button once, the icon will shine a colour. If the power button lights up white then there is 70-100% power in the charger, green means there is 30-70% power and red means there is less than 30%. Once the charger has had a full charge, it turns off automatically.

To activate the flashlight, you hold the power button. You also hold the power button to turn the light off.

This has been a really useful piece of equipment for charging my iPod, phone, Bluetooth keyboard and fitness tracker. It is something that I will keep in my bag with me along with most of these devices. It is small enough to fit in any bag. It is a bit on the heavier size to other portable chargers but is still light enough to be portable.

The Aukey Quick Charge 3.0 Portable Charger is currently on sale at Amazon UK for £30.99. You get a 24 Month Manufacturer Warranty when you purchase the earphones. This is noted in the manual along with the warranty card.
