What I’ve Been Playing | May 2018

Happy June!

I know I said that this was going to be a monthly series but you may have noticed that there was no April edition. The reason for this in all honesty was all I played was Monster Hunter World and truth be told, I didn’t think a whole ‘What I’ve Been Playing’ post devoted to just MHW was really worth adding to the series. So here we are, the beginning of June and basically half way through 2018. The time has flown by but I have spent more time playing a variety of games instead of just MHW.

So here’s what I played in May.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

I have wanted this game since it was first released and I’ve waited almost 2 years to get my hands on it! Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana has been the main story driven game I’ve played in May too. I’ve played a few games in the Ys series such as Ys: Ark Of Napishtim, Ys: Memories of Celceta and Ys: Origin and I have to be honest, this one is by far my favourite! I couldn’t believe it when I found out that the Ys series is 30 years old too and each game has had the main character Adol in them, and that’s who you play as.

The graphics are aesthetically pleasing, you feel like you know the characters, the gameplay is fun and there is a lot of playability to it. I’m so glad that Mr J treated me to it because I love the game.

Clicker Heroes and Gems Of War

These 2 games for me are the first thing I do daily on my PlayStation before I started my story game. They’re free to play games and are just a bit of fun. I didn’t do them as much before now but since the Gems Of War update which gives you a daily and monthly reward calendar, I’ve started making sure I am logging in every day.

LocoRoco Remastered

I’m not ashamed to admit that LocoRoco has been a game that I’ve loved since I first had the PSP. Random fact, LocoRoco is where I got the inspiration for my PSN name from. I decided to purchase the games for myself while they were on sale on PSN.

King Oddball

King Oddball is a free to play game on PSN that is, for me, highly addictive. It’s a physics game similar to Angry Birds where you throw rocks using King Oddball’s tongue to destroy soldiers, tanks and helicopters.

What games did you play in May? I’d love to hear from you.

Best Wishes
